The most livable city houses the best brunch spots! - Melbourne
Melburnians love brunch. A perfect chill weekend for the locals consists of gatherings with friends and families at Instagram worthy brunch places and enjoying a cuppa. Brunch is part of the Melbourne lifestyle, trust me I'm a local.

"Cacao, Coconut and Date Oat Bircher Museli with Orange Blossom Labna , Spiced Poached Pear, Berries, Dried Orange, Pistachio and Cacao Granola" @ Left Field
Left Field
358 Koornang Road, Carnegie, Melbourne
03 9578 2043
Left Field, a local favorite! The restaurant has seats outside so you can bring your furry animals to your brunch gatherings. I visited Left Field twice but I've only eaten there once and that's because the first time I visited was on mother's day and they said I had to wait for 2.5hrs so I passed and the second time I visited around 12.30PM and waited for 30 minutes. If you don't mind the way then do pay a visit.
I ordered the "Cacao, Coconut and Date Oat Bircher Museli with Orange Blossom Labna , Spiced Poached Pear, Berries, Dried Orange, Pistachio and Cacao Granola" (in short the photo above). Presentation wise was fantastic but in terms of taste, it was great but a bit too much because I felt like no matter how much I ate there were still heaps of Coconut museli left so I slowly got sick of the coconut flavor. I do however recommend the "Middle Eastern Slow Cooked Lamb" that Mr W. ordered and I loved it, the lamb was tender and perfectly spiced. My dish was approximately AUD$18 and Mr W.'s was approximately AUD$23.

"Just Strawberries" Waffle @ Piatella Cafe Bar
Piatella Cafe Bar
88 Kingsway, Glen Waverley, Melbourne
03 9562 1700
Piatella Cafe Bar, an oldie but a goodie in Glen Waverley. Yes I know the above photo isn't brunch (duh), that's because this place also does amazing waffles (and also this was the only photo I found on my phone! so visit their site for brunch photos).
Be prepare to queue if you go Friday nights or on the weekends. If you want to sleep in, don't worry, breakfast is served till 4PM everyday. Our family's go to dishes are 1) Chilli Eggs 2) Piatella Big Breakfast 3) Eggs Benedict & 4) Just Smashing. You're looking on average AUD$20 per dish which is quite decent nowadays in Melbourne.
Friday and weekend nights are packed with people enjoying a drink and having some waffles. We usually order the "Just Strawberries" waffle option with a scoop of vanilla ice cream (photo above), this option comes with fresh strawberries topped with hazelnut Nutella and icing sugar and ALSO the waffles are freshly made so are piping hot and light and fluffy!

Grilled Shawarma Chicken @ Penta
Penta
28 Riddell Parade, Elsternwick, Melbourne
03 9523 0716
Penta is located at the bottom of a business building in Elsternwick so it can get pretty busy. We made a booking on Zomato to go on a Saturday for a late brunch at 1.30PM. The place is very spacious and new which is a great and comfortable place to hang out with your friends and families. When we visited we ordered the Grilled Shawarma Chicken (above) and the below dishes.

Siracha Grilled Salmon
with raw zoodles, edamame, avocado with herb dressing and fried basil
AUD$22

Okonomiyaki
AUD$23

Penta Benedict
AUD$20

How good do they all look? I liked all the dishes we chose in particular the Okonomiyaki and Penta Benedict. I'm already a fan of Okonomiyaki so when I read that it comes with bacon, egg and hoisin sauce - yes please - and it was indeed a great decision. The Penta Benedict is a signature dish, eggs benedict on top of tender braised beef cheek and waffles is a combo that you can't wrong! By the way, the waffles are sweet potato waffles which is even better!

OK folks, that's all for now! Until the next post! xxooxx
